Create Your GLASS ORNAMENT

$95.00
Sold Out

Listed price is per participant.

Class sizes will be between 8–10 participants.

Get into the holiday spirit with us by designing and assisting in the creation of your very own blown glass ornament!

During this two-hour workshop, you’ll get an introduction to the glassblowing process and experience what it’s like to work with molten glass at temperatures around 2,100°F. This workshop is open to all skill levels, requires no prior experience, and is intended to be partially hands-on.

Our instructors will begin the workshop with a demonstration of the ornament-making process. From there, we will work one-on-one with one participant at a time to create each ornament.

Each participant will choose their own colors and have the opportunity to get a feel for the tools and process, including rolling the molten glass into their chosen colors. Our experienced instructors will closely guide you through each step and facilitate as much hands-on participation as possible.

Finished ornaments will be approximately 3.5–4” in diameter.

IMPORTANT:

  • Be sure to thoroughly read our Cancellation Policy prior to booking this workshop.

  • If you would like to attend with a friend or family member, we strongly recommend registering together under one booking. If you register separately, there is a risk that your preferred date or time could sell out before the other person completes their registration. Workshop dates and times are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

IMPORTANT: Once you have purchased a workshop or class please keep an eye out in your email for our Release Form that will be sent to you. Each participant is required to read, sign, and email back our Release Form prior to attending any glass workshop offered at Wyandotte Art and Glass Center. • Unless specified, glass workshops are recommended for ages 14 and older. Those under the age of 18 must turn in a signed parental consent form and have a guardian present during their experience.

  • Unless specified, glass classes and workshops offered do not require any previous experience or knowledge of glass blowing and are intended for beginners. All skill levels are welcome!

  • All tools, materials, and finished pieces are provided and included in prices.

  • All pieces made through workshops will have to go through a process called annealing. The 2100 degree Fahrenheit glass has to be slowly brought down to temperature over a 24 hr period in a controlled temperature kiln. This process assures your glass pieces are structurally sound and will not form cracks during the cooling process. Once properly annealed your pieces will be ready to be picked up the next Saturday following your work shop day between 10am and 3pm. If you are not available to pick up the following Saturday you can email: info@wyandotteartandglasscenter.com or give us a call to schedule an alternate pick up date and time that works best for you. If you live out of sate we will be more than happy to ship your piece to you at the cost of shipping.

  • If tickets are sold out for this workshop and you would like to be placed on a waitlist please email info@wyandotteartandglasscenter.com. If availability opens for this class we will notify those on the waitlist on a fist reserve first serve basis.
